Very expected game in Cotton Tree where 15th ranked Sunshine CP (1-9) was defeated by fifth ranked Capitals (7-4) 72-61 on Saturday. Capitals outrebounded Sunshine CP 46-31 including a 20-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Mia Loyd (181-1994, college: N.Dakota) who had a double-double by scoring 23 points and 12 rebounds. New Zealand forward Anna Cameron (178, college: Nevada) chipped in 5 points and 13 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Alex Wittinger (185-1997, college: Illinois) who recorded a double-double by scoring 24 points and 12 rebounds and the former international Kathleen Macleod (167-1986) added 14 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists respectively. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Capitals maintains fifth place with 7-4 record. Sunshine CP lost their seventh game in a row.
