There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Hawks (7-7) rolled over higher ranked Falcons (8-6) in Wollongong 97-68 on Saturday. Hawks dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Falcons' 38. Hawks forced 20 Falcons turnovers and outrebounded them 51-37 including 16 on the offensive glass. Guard William Hickey (194-1999) notched a double-double by scoring 22 points, 16 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the effort and forward Harry Morris (198-2002) supported him with 19 points and 7 rebounds. Four Hawks players scored in double figures. Even 19 points and 7 rebounds by American guard Anthony Gaines (193-1998, college: Siena) did not help to save the game for Falcons. Naturalized British forward Ryan Beisty (200-1995, college: Regis Univ.) added 11 points and 10 rebounds for lost side. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Hawks moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Falcons dropped to the fourth position with six games lost. They share it with 4 other teams. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
