There was no surprise in Hamilton Hill where 14th ranked Magic (2-13) was crushed by tenth ranked Cougars (6-8) 117-97 on Friday. Cougars looked well-organized offensively handing out 34 assists comparing to just 21 passes made by Magic's players. It was a great evening for swingman Gavin Field (202-1989, college: UWG) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 25 points, 8 rebounds, 10 assists and 5 steals. American forward Courtney Alexander (203-1997, college: Tenn Tech) helped adding 29 points and 9 rebounds. American forward Ray Turner (206-1990, college: Texas A&M) responded with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 15 rebounds (on 13-of-17 shooting from the field) and the other American import DeQuan Abrom (188-1996, college: Belm.Abbey) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 assists. Five Cougars and four Magic players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Cougars have a solid series of three victories in a row. They maintain tenth place with 6-8 record, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Magic keeps the fourteenth position with 13 games lost. Cougars will meet Eagles (#13) in the next round. Magic will play against Senators and hope to secure a win.
