We could consider it a predictable result in the game between close teams when twelfth ranked Brisbane Spartans (6-8) beat at home 11th ranked Rip City (5-7) 89-80 on Sunday. It was a great evening for guard Koen Sapwell (193-1999, college: CS Monterey) who led his team to a victory scoring 36 points (!!!). Forward Fabijan Krslovic (203-1995, college: Montana) helped adding 19 points and 8 rebounds. American guard Brandon Wood (188-1989, college: Michigan St., agency: Interperformances) responded with 27 points and 8 rebounds and naturalized Sudanese forward Kouat Noi (201-1997, college: TCU) scored 16 points and 6 rebounds. Brisbane Spartans moved-up to tenth place, which they share with 5 other teams. Loser Rip City dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. They share it with Norwood F.. Brisbane Spartans will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Rip City will play against Phoenix (#8) in Cotton Tree and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
