Everything went according to plan in Brisbane where second ranked Pirates (11-4) beat bottom-ranked Roar (0-14) 82-74 on Sunday. Pirates shot 21 for 33 from the free-throw line, while Roar only scored five points from the stripe. Pirates forced 24 Roar turnovers. Swingman Lulu Twidale (174-2005) fired 33 points (!!!) for the winners. The former international point guard Maddison Rocci (169-1998, agency: ONE Sports and Entertainment) chipped in 21 points, 6 rebounds, 6 assists and 5 steals. American guard Donica Cosby (172-1988, college: Okla City) produced 18 points and 4 assists and Jaylen Cooper added 16 points respectively for lost side. Four Roar players scored in double figures. Roar's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Pirates maintains second position with 11-4 record having four points less than leader Wyndham D., which they share with Frankston B. and Mt Gambier. Loser Roar still closes the standings with 14 games lost. Pirates will meet at home league's leader Wizards in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Roar will play against Dolphins (#7) and hopes to get finally their first victory.
