Not a big story in a game when 9th ranked Eagles (5-12) were outscored by leader Cougars (13-0) in Morley 101-43 on Friday. Cougars dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Eagles' 26. Cougars forced 23 Eagles turnovers and outrebounded them 52-30 including a 22-9 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Eagles' players. Guard Jewel Williams (168-2001) nailed 25 points and 4 assists for the winning side and Danish swingman Sarah Mortensen (185-1997, college: Villanova) accounted for 20 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists. New Zealand guard Tessa Morrison (173-1997, college: SNHU) came up with 9 points and 6 rebounds and Polish point guard Sylwia Bujniak (170-1996, agency: DC Sports) added 5 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Eagles in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games.
