Not a big story in a game in Upwey where 7th ranked Jets (3-12) were defeated by third ranked Suns (10-5) 85-72 on Saturday. Suns dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Jets' 36. They also forced 19 Jets turnovers. Suns looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The best player for the winners was American Porsche Poole (175-1989, college: Michigan St.) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 11 rebounds and 8 assists. New Zealand forward Alicia Carline (190-1993, college: Portland St.) chipped in a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds. Worth to mention Poole played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Suns' coach Chad Burton allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the other side the best for losing team was Greek center Dimitra Gkizani (190-2000, college: RWC) who recorded a double-double by scoring 18 points and 11 rebounds and Chloe Hildebrand added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Suns maintains third position with 10-5 record having nine points less than leader Wyndham D., which they share with Rockhampton C. and SD Spartans. Loser Jets keep the seventh place with 12 games lost. They share the position with 3 other teams. Suns will meet at home league's leader Devils in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Jets will play against the league's leader Devils (#1) and hope to secure a win.
