Very expected game in Sippy Downs where 13th ranked Rip City (4-11) was edged by eighth ranked Seahawks (8-6) 61-58 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was guard Emma Gandini (172-1994) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points and 10 rebounds. American guard Alexa Held (178-1999, college: DePaul) chipped in 13 points, 6 rebounds and 7 assists. At the other side the best for losing team was Carlie Smith who recorded 8 points, 14 rebounds, 5 assists and 4 steals and American forward Megan Mullings (185-1992, college: Alaska-Anch.) added 15 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Seahawks have a solid four-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with N.Adelaide R. and S.Adelaide P. Loser Rip City dropped to the sixth position with 11 games lost. They share it with Hume City B. and Ipswich F.. Seahawks will meet Rollers (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Rip City will play against Meteorettes (#15) and hope to secure a win.
