There was a surprise result in Brisbane where sixteenth ranked Roar (1-15) beat higher ranked Salties (11-7) 81-68 on Friday. Roar had a 38-26 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was a great evening for American guard Donica Cosby (172-1988, college: Okla City) who led her team to a victory scoring 29 points and 5 rebounds. Guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) helped adding 12 points, 10 rebounds and 6 assists. At the losing side New Zealand forward Tsubasa Nisbet (183-2000, college: Georgia South) responded with 17 points and 9 rebounds and guard Ruby Porter (178-2001, college: Nebraska) scored 16 points. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Roar maintains sixteenth place with 1-15 record. It was Salties' third loss in a row. They dropped to the sixth position with seven games lost. They share it with Perry Lakes H. and Maitland M.. Roar will meet at home higher ranked Rollers (#7) in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Salties will play against Sunshine CP and hope to secure a win.
