Rather expected game in Kalgoorlie where bottom-ranked Slammers (0-16) were rolled over by eleventh ranked Giants (4-12) 88-54 on Saturday. Giants outrebounded Slammers 64-39 including a 23-11 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for Aimee Borchet who led her team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 18 points, 24 rebounds and 4 assists. Kiriana Hawaikirangi helped adding 33 points (!!!) and 5 rebounds. At the losing side guard Paris Duffield (171) responded with 16 points and 5 rebounds and swingman Alex Ciabattoni (180-1994, college: Newman) scored 4 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists. Giants maintains eleventh place with 4-12 record. Slammers lost their sixteenth game in a row. They still close the standings with 16 games lost. Giants will meet league's leader Cougars in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Slammers will play against Senators (#7) and hope to get finally their first victory.
