Everything went according to plan when fifth ranked Brisbane Spartans (12-5) outleveled at home 11th ranked Capitals (8-9) 84-60 on Friday. Brisbane Spartans looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of guard Jessica McDowell-White (168-2000, college: USF) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 14 points and 10 assists and New Zealand swingman Natalie Taylor (183-1982, college: SEMO) who added 13 points and 11 rebounds during the contest. Four Brisbane Spartans players scored in double figures. Forward Stephanie Collins (196-1995, college: SMU) responded with 18 points and Hilary Fuller scored 10 points and 7 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Brisbane Spartans have an impressive six-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Southern T. Capitals lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh position with nine games lost. They share it with Forestville E.. Brisbane Spartans will meet league's second-placed Thunder in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Capitals will play against the league's leader Wizards (#1) in Taigum and hope to secure a win.
