Not a big story in a game in Launceston where 16th ranked Thunder (6-14) was outplayed by thirteenth ranked Tornadoes (9-12) 87-65 on Friday. Worth to mention a great performance of American guard Riley Lupfer (175, college: Boise St.) who helped to win the game recording 22 points and 7 rebounds and forward Macey Crawford (178-2005) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists during the contest. Five Tornadoes players scored in double figures. Tornadoes' coach felt very confident using 11 players and allowed the starting five to rest. Guard Lana Hollingsworth (178, college: Santa Clara) responded with 18 points and Japanese center Kadysha Umezawa (190-1998) produced a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Tornadoes have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to twelfth place, which they share with Kilsyth LC. Loser Thunder dropped to the eleventh position with 14 games lost. They share it with Cent.Coast C.. Tornadoes will meet Chargers (#15) in the next round. Thunder will play against Cavaliers (#18) in Cranbourne and hope to secure a win.
