Very important is a road loss of third ranked Flames (11-6) against sixth ranked Panthers (9-8) on Saturday night. Visiting Flames were defeated by Panthers in Adelaide 92-78. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Flames. Panthers shot 28 for 39 from the free-throw line, while Flames only scored twelve points from the stripe. Panthers forced 20 Flames turnovers and outrebounded them 51-32 including a 38-27 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Holly Forbes (178-1998, college: UT Martin) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 13 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists and center Darcy Rees (193-2000, college: Washington) who added 13 points and 12 rebounds during the contest. Guard Alex Wilson (181-1994) responded with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 13 rebounds and Sharna Thompson scored 25 points. Five Panthers and four Flames players scored in double figures. Flames' coach rotated eleven players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Panthers moved-up to fifth place, which they share with N.Adelaide R. and NGC Seahawks. Loser Flames keep the third position with six games lost. Panthers will meet at home Warriors (#9) in the next round. Flames will play against Rockets (#5) in Adelaide and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
