Regular Season Round 32: S.Adelaide P. - Norwood F. 95-66
Date: July 8, 2023
Rather expected game in Park Holme where 6th ranked Norwood Flames (10-8) were rolled over by third ranked South Adelaide Panthers (12-6) 95-66 on Saturday. South Adelaide Panthers outrebounded Norwood Flames 51-36 including 16 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of forward Lloyd McVeigh (197-2003) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 31 points and 10 rebounds and the former international power forward Daniel Johnson (212-1988, college: Pepperdine) who added 17 points, 9 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 blocks during the contest. Four South Adelaide Panthers players scored in double figures. Walter Mcbride responded with 28 points and 8 rebounds and forward Thomas Goodall (198-1997, college: NIACC) scored 5 points and 11 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. South Adelaide Panthers have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain third position with 12-6 record having just two points less than leader Rockingham F., which they share with Sturt S. Loser Norwood Flames keep the sixth place with eight games lost. South Adelaide Panthers will meet at home Woodville Warriors (#5) in the next round. Norwood Flames will play against North Adelaide Rockets in Greenacres and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
