There was a surprise result in Darwin where fourteenth ranked Sunshine CP (4-13) defeated higher ranked Salties (11-8) 68-57 on Saturday. Sunshine CP forced 22 Salties turnovers and outrebounded them 49-33 including 17 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Alex Wittinger (185-1997, college: Illinois) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 25 points, 17 rebounds and 5 blocks and Maltese swingman Nicola Handreck (175-1995) who added 15 points and 6 rebounds during the contest. Guard Ruby Porter (178-2001, college: Nebraska) responded with 22 points and 6 steals and Claire Hunter scored 8 points and 12 rebounds. Sunshine CP moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 3 other teams. Salties lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the sixth position with eight games lost. They share it with Sydney C. and Perry Lakes H.. Sunshine CP will meet Force (#12) in the next round. Salties will have a break next round.
