Everything went according to plan when thirteenth ranked Geelong Supercats (10-11) outscored at home 15th ranked Thunder (8-13) 116-85 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Thunder's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Geelong Supercats made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Gabe Hadley (193-1998) who scored 43 points (!!!). American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193-1992, college: SHSU, agency: IceBasket) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Geelong Supercats' coach Grant Wallace felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward William Jenkins III (201-1996, college: Virginia Union) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Cirkook Riak (203-1992, college: Lamar St.CC) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Geelong Supercats moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Thunder dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Kalamunda ES.
