Everything went according to plan when thirteenth ranked Geelong Supercats (10-11) outscored at home 15th ranked Thunder (8-13) 116-85 on Saturday. Geelong Supercats looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists comparing to just 10 passes made by Thunder's players. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Geelong Supercats made 7 blocks. The best player for the winners was guard Gabe Hadley (193-1998) who scored 43 points (!!!). American guard Demarcus Gatlin (193-1992, college: SHSU, agency: IceBasket) chipped in a triple-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds, 13 assists and 4 steals. Four Geelong Supercats players scored in double figures. Geelong Supercats' coach Grant Wallace felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward William Jenkins III (201-1996, college: Virginia Union) who recorded a double-double by scoring 26 points and 10 rebounds and power forward Cirkook Riak (203-1992, college: Lamar St.CC) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Geelong Supercats moved-up to eighth place, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Thunder dropped to the ninth position with 13 games lost. They share it with Kalamunda ES. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
