Eighth-ranked Mavericks (4-14) used its home court advantage to challenge leader Sabres (18-0) in Mt. Barker. The visitors from Pasadena managed to secure only two-point victory 91-89. However their fans expected much easier game. Sabres players were unselfish on offense dishing 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by Mavericks' players. Canadian forward Mikayla Williams (183, college: USF) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 11 rebounds for the winners and guard Nicola Mathews (173, college: App State) chipped in 9 points and 4 assists. Sabres' coach Tim Shortt used entire bench in such tough game. The best for the losing side was power forward Olivia Bradley (183-2005) with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds and point guard Taylah Levy (165, college: CSU) scored 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists. The victory was the eighteenth consecutive win for Sabres. They maintain first place with 18-0 record, which they share with Wyndham D. Mavericks at the other side keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. They share it with Woodville W. and Goldfields G.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
