There was no surprise in Condell Park where 13th ranked Bankstown Bruins (4-17) were defeated by seventh ranked Hills Hornets (13-7) 96-89 on Saturday. Hills Hornets made 25-of-33 free shots (75.8 percent) during the game. The best player for the winners was guard Benjamin Kearins (190-1994) who scored 19 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Liam Moss (-1998) chipped in 16 points and 5 rebounds. Hills Hornets' coach Reece Potter used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard Hayden Blankley (198-2000, college: WT) who recorded a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Kobe Shannon (193, college: Midland) added 20 points and 5 assists respectively. Four Hills Hornets and five Bankstown Bruins players scored in double figures. Hills Hornets maintains seventh place with 13-7 record. Bankstown Bruins lost their fifth game in a row. They keep the thirteenth position with 17 games lost. They share it with SW Slammers and Manly Warr.. Hills Hornets will meet at home league's leader Excellence in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
