Regular Season Round 18: Perth - NZL Breakers 78-89

The most important game in the last round took place in Perth between second ranked Perth Wildcats (16-9) and ninth ranked New Zealand Breakers (11-13) on Sunday night. Perth Wildcats were defeated by New Zealand Breakers at home 89-78. NZL Breakers made 21-of-26 free shots (80.8 percent) during the game. American forward Zylan Cheatham (203-1995, college: Arizona St.) scored 24 points and 8 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and the other American import point guard Parker Jackson-Cartwright (180-1995, college: Arizona) chipped in 19 points and 5 assists during the contest. The best for the losing side was the former international power forward Keanu Pinder (210-1995, college: Arizona) with a double-double by scoring 21 points and 15 rebounds and American forward Kristian Doolittle (201-1997, college: Oklahoma, agency: Pensack Sports) produced a double-double by scoring 10 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists. Five Perth players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. NZL Breakers moved-up to seventh place. Perth at the other side keeps the second position with nine games lost. NZL Breakers are looking forward to face league's leader Melbourne on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Perth will play against Cairns and is hoping to win this game.
