Regular Season Round 2: Rockingham F. - SW Slammers 103-44

Date: March 28, 2024
Flames used a home court advantage and outplayed the opponent from Bunbury 103-44 on Thursday night. Rockingham F. dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Slammers' 16. Rockingham F. forced 24 SW Slammers turnovers and outrebounded them 57-35 including a 23-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rockingham F. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists comparing to just 8 passes made by SW Slammers' players. The former international swingman Alexandra Sharp (182-1997, college: Wake Forest) had a double-double by scoring 21 points, 15 rebounds and 5 assists to lead the charge for the winners and Neseya Williams chipped in 20 points and 13 rebounds during the contest. Five Flames players scored in double figures. Trinidad and Tobago forward Chervelle Cox (186-1992, college: Central St.) responded with a double-double by scoring 11 points and 11 rebounds and Zaya Black scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flames will meet Mandurah on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Slammers will play against Cockburn C. and hope to win that game.
