Regular Season Round 4: Western PS - Wyndham 80-104
Date: April 28, 2024
There was no surprise when bottom-rankedSteelers (0-5) were outleveled by top-ranked Devils (5-0) in Western Port 104-80 on Sunday. Wyndham forced 19 Western PS turnovers and outrebounded them 45-32 including 31 on the defensive glass. The winners were led by guard Oskar Jones who scored that evening 33 points (!!!) and 4 assists and American guard Troyce Manassa (193-1993, college: SSU) supported him with 13 points and 7 rebounds. Even 20 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists by Liam Ingram did not help to save the game for Western PS . Elijah Davy added 22 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Devils have an impressive five-game winning streak. Wyndham maintains first position with 5-0 record. Loser Steelers still closes the standings with five games lost. They share the position with Blackburn. Wyndham will meet Bellarine (#8) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Western PS will play against Hume City in Tullamarine and looks forward to get finally their first victory.
