Vikings has registered their first victory this season after five consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Melbourne Uni (3-4) 100-98 on Sunday. The best player for the winners was American guard James Legan (190-1987, college: ECU) who scored 30 points. His fellow American import Anthony Kimble (196-1987, college: GSU) chipped in a double-double by scoring 20 points and 12 rebounds. Kimble is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American guard Ricardo Time (188, college: Idaho Coll.) produced 19 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line) and power forward Liam Killey (203) added 18 points and 11 rebounds respectively for the guests. Four Blackburn and five Melbourne Uni players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Vikings maintains eleventh place with 1-5 record. Loser Melbourne Uni keeps the eighth position with four games lost. They share it with Shepparton.
