The biggest surprise of round 5 in Big V was guestWyndham D. 's (#2) easy road victory over Bellarine (#3) 90-73 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Storm. The best player for the winners was American guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky, agency: DC Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Canadian guard Julie Brosseau (175, college: Kansas, agency: DC Sports) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Paschal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Devils' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Bridgette Rettstatt (188-1998, college: Liberty) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds and Olivia Virt added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Wyndham D. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Bulleen B. Bellarine at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Warrnambool.
