Regular Season Round 5: Bellarine - Wyndham D. 73-90

The biggest surprise of round 5 in Big V was guestWyndham D. 's (#2) easy road victory over Bellarine (#3) 90-73 on Sunday evening. It ended at the same time the five-game winning streak of Storm. The best player for the winners was American guard Amanda Paschal (170-1996, college: Kentucky, agency: DC Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!), 16 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Canadian guard Julie Brosseau (175, college: Kansas, agency: DC Sports) chipped in 18 points and 9 rebounds. Paschal is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Devils' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Bridgette Rettstatt (188-1998, college: Liberty) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 18 rebounds and Olivia Virt added 14 points respectively for the hosts. Wyndham D. have a solid series of four victories in a row. They maintain second place with 6-1 record having just one point less than leader Bulleen B. Bellarine at the other side keeps the third position with two games lost. They share it with Warrnambool. Wyndham D. are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Camberwell (#10) in Melbourne in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Bellarine will play at home against the league's leader Bulleen (#1) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
