Regular Season Round 34: BA CoE - Newcastle F. 89-84

There was a minor upset when 3rd ranked Falcons (11-4) lost to fifth ranked BA CoE (10-7) in Canberra 84-89 on Sunday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when BA CoE made 7 blocks. Forward Monique Bobongie (178-2006) notched 28 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists to lead the effort and forward Zara Russell (185-2007) supported her with 17 points. Even 26 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists by American guard Nicole Munger (180-1997, college: Michigan) did not help to save the game for Newcastle F.. Center Isla Juffermans (191-2005) added 21 points and 6 rebounds (made all of her thirteen free throws !!!) for lost side. BA CoE maintains fifth position with 10-7 record. Loser Falcons keeps the third place with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
