No shocking result in a game in Melbourne where third rankedCougars (15-7) outleveled 10th ranked Vikings (5-17) 118-77 on Sunday. Keysborough dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Vikings 's 32. Keysborough outrebounded Blackburn 60-30 including a 45-25 advantage in defensive rebounds. Keysborough looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was point guard Anthony Williams (178-1995, college: Clark Atlanta) who scored 37 points (!!!), 6 rebounds and 5 assists (went 10 for 10 at the free throw line !!!). Forward Gerrard Newby (196-1995, college: Union, KY) chipped in a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. Worth to mention Williams played also at Eurobasket Summer League, which helped get the job in pro basketball. Four Cougars players scored in double figures. Cougars' coach felt very confident that he used entire bench which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the other side the best for losing team was guard James Legan (190-1987, college: ECU) who recorded 31 points and 6 rebounds (went 8 for 8 at the free throw line) and point guard Kortland Martin (180, college: FHU) added 23 points and 9 assists respectively. Keysborough maintains third position with 15-7 record behind leader Wyndham. Blackburn lost fourth consecutive game. They keep the tenth place with 17 games lost. They share the position with Camberwell.
