Rather predictable result when second rankedTownsville Fire (12-4) won against on the road 6th ranked Adelaide Lightning (4-12) 83-69 on Sunday. Townsville looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. The winners were led by the former international forward Alexandra Fowler (180-2001, college: Portland) who scored that evening 14 points and 8 rebounds and forward Alicia Froling (190-1996, college: SMU) supported her with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Even 18 points and 6 assists by point guard Dallas Loughridge (167-2004) did not help to save the game for Adelaide . The former international forward Steph Talbot (188-1994) added 19 points and 6 rebounds. Townsville maintains second position with 12-4 record behind leader Bendigo, which they share with Perth. Adelaide lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the seventh place with 12 games lost.
