Rather expected game when 6th rankedSydney Flames (6-15) were smashed at home by third ranked Perth Lynx (15-5) 76-57 on Sunday. Perth had a 41-30 advantage in offensive rebounds. It was an exceptional evening for the former international forward Anneli Maley (185-1998, college: TCU) who led the winners with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds. American center Yemiyah Morris (193-1998, college: WVU) accounted for 12 points and 13 rebounds for the winning side. Four Perth Lynx players scored in double figures. Forward Shaneice Swain (185-2003) came up with 20 points and 7 rebounds and American forward Unique Thompson (190-1999, college: Auburn) added 13 points and 10 rebounds respectively for Sydney in the defeat. Sydney Flames' coach rotated eleven players seeing no chance for a win. Perth maintains third place with 15-5 record having just three points less than leader Townsville. Sydney lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 15 games lost. They share it with Adelaide. Perth will meet league's second-placed Bendigo on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Sydney will play against Geelong U. (#8) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
