There was no surprise when 12th rankedFalcons (2-3) were edged by third ranked Lady Cobras (4-1) in Kilsyth 82-80 on Thursday. However just two-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Kilsyth made 16-of-21 free shots (76.2 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 27 assists. Guard Nikita Young (170-2002) nailed 23 points, 7 assists and 4 steals (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) for the winning side and guard Haylee Andrews (175-2000, college: Portland) accounted for 9 points, 8 rebounds and 10 assists. Lady Cobras' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. American forward Madelynn Utti (181-1998, college: LBSU) came up with 25 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and forward Sophia Locandro (190-2001, college: UC Irvine) added 17 points and 11 rebounds respectively for Waverley F. in the defeat. The victory was the fourth consecutive win for Lady Cobras . Kilsyth maintains third place with 4-1 record behind leader Mt Gambier, which they share with Diamond VE and Sandringham S. Loser Falcons dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with 3 other teams.
