There was no surprise in Geelong where bottom-rankedUnited (0-7) was crushed by first ranked Sabres (7-1) 81-62 on Saturday. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Sandringham S. made 7 blocks. It was a great evening for forward Klara Wischer (190-1991, college: San Diego) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. International guard Stephanie Reid (168-1996, college: Buffalo) helped adding 16 points, 7 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals. Four Sabres players scored in double figures. Sabres' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. At the losing side American forward Jordan Vasquez (183, college: CSUSM) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 10 rebounds and point guard Lilly Rotunno (170-2004) scored 21 points (made all of her nine free throws !!!). The victory was the fifth consecutive win for Sabres . Sandringham S. maintains first place with 7-1 record, which they share with Sturt S. Geelong U. lost their seventh game in a row. They still close the standings with seven games lost. They share the position with Inner WB.
