Regular Season Round 8: Diamond VE - Ringwood H. 99-85

Date: May 9, 2026
Everything went according to plan when second ranked Diamond Valley Eagles (7-2) defeated 18th ranked Hawks (1-9) in Greensborough 99-85 on Saturday. Diamond VE made 18-of-21 free shots (85.7 percent) during the game. They also forced 20 Ringwood turnovers and outrebounded them 38-27 including 27 on the defensive glass. Diamond VE looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. The winners were led by the former international guard Abbey Ellis (168-2001, college: Purdue) who scored that evening 24 points and 6 rebounds and American power forward Erin Riley (180, college: Keiser) supported her with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Even 19 points and 6 rebounds by Indian center Harsimran Kaur (193-2003, college: URI) did not help to save the game for Ringwood. Forward Emma Clarke (186-2000, college: Colorado) added 10 points and 6 assists for the guests. Both teams had five players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Diamond Valley Eagles have a solid three-game winning streak. Diamond VE maintains second position with 7-2 record having four points less than leader Sandringham S., which they share with Bankstown B. and Sturt S. Ringwood lost fifth consecutive game. They dropped to the nineteenth place with nine games lost. Diamond VE will meet Northern Force (#18) in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Ringwood will play against the league's leader Sandringham S. in Cheltenham and hope to win that game.
