Very expected game when 10th rankedWanneroo (2-6) was smashed by third ranked Flames (6-2) in Rockingham 103-58 on Saturday. Rockingham F. dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Wanneroo 's 26. Rockingham F. outrebounded Joondalup W. 49-27 including a 15-3 advantage in offensive rebounds. Rockingham F. shot the lights out from three sinking 14 long-distance shots on high 51.9 percentage. The winners were led by American power forward Teige Morrell (191-1995, college: Nevada) who had that evening a double-double by scoring 20 points and 15 rebounds and the other American import swingman Sara Puckett (188-2002, college: Tennessee) supported her with 30 points and 7 rebounds. Five Flames players scored in double figures. Even 18 points by American guard Asianae Johnson (173-2000, college: MSU) did not help to save the game for Joondalup W. . New Zealand guard Awatea Leach (173-1999, college: Collin CC) added 9 points and 5 rebounds for the guests. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Flames have a solid three-game winning streak. Rockingham F. maintains third position with 6-2 record having six points less than leader Sandringham S., which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Wanneroo dropped to the eleventh place with six games lost. They share the position with Kalamunda ES and SW Slammers.
