There was a surprise result in Gold Coast where thirteenth rankedPirates (1-4) won against higher ranked Rollers (2-4) 60-51 on Saturday. The best player for the winners was American guard Hannah Simental (173, college: Colorado St.) who scored 16 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Swingman Stephanie Bairstow (188-1994, college: Utah St.) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. Pirates' coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was Juna Umezawa who recorded 21 points and 7 rebounds and center Emma Petrie (186-2007) added 9 points and 11 rebounds respectively. Pirates left bottom position moving up to eleventh place. It was Gold Coast R. 's third loss in a row. They dropped to the ninth position with four games lost.
