Not a big story in a game in Heathmont where 19th rankedHawks (1-11) were outplayed by sixth ranked Ballarat Miners (7-5) 107-72 on Saturday. Ballarat M. dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Hawks 's 28. Ballarat M. outrebounded Ringwood 38-27 including a 31-18 advantage in defensive rebounds. Ballarat M. looked well-organized offensively handing out 35 assists comparing to just 16 passes made by Ringwood 's players. American forward Malia Fisher (188, college: Rice, agency: LBM Management) scored 22 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists to lead the charge for the winners and the former international guard Abigail Wehrung (177-1995) chipped in 22 points and 7 assists during the contest. At the losing side swingman Taylor Mole (188-1999, college: UCSB) responded with 24 points and 7 rebounds (made all of her nine free throws !!!) and Indian center Harsimran Kaur (193-2003, college: URI) scored 14 points and 5 rebounds.
