Regular Season Round 11: Sharks - Nuggets 117-93
Date: July 9, 2021
Rather expected game when 5th ranked Nuggets (9-8) were smashed by third ranked Sharks (12-5) in Southland 117-93 on Friday. Sharks forced 20 Nuggets turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. It was an exceptional evening for American forward Josh Cunningham (203-96, college: Dayton) who led the winners and scored 21 points, 8 rebounds and 9 assists. Dominique Kelman-Poto (201-94, college: Adelphi) accounted for 25 points and 9 rebounds for the winning side. Four Sharks players scored in double figures. The former international power forward Samuel Timmins (211-97, college: Washington) came up with a double-double by scoring 26 points, 14 rebounds and 5 assists and the former international guard Luke Aston (201-90, college: BYU-Hawaii) added 19 points respectively for Nuggets in the defeat. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Sharks moved-up to second place, which they share with Hawks. Defending champion Nuggets keep the fifth position with eight games lost. Sharks will meet at home Rams (#6) in the next round. Nuggets will play against Rams and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
