Wellington Saints claimed NBL title. They nipped Taylor Hawke's Bay Hawks in the Grand Final tonight to capture the trophy. Strangely Hawks outrebounded Saints 37-25 including 25 on the defensive glass. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Saints made 8 blocks. Forward Taane Samuel (200-99) fired 26 points for the winners. American guard Kerwin Roach II (193-96, college: Texas) chipped in 16 points and 7 rebounds. American guard Devondrick Walker (196-92, college: A&M-Commerce) produced 31 points and 7 rebounds and international forward Hyrum Harris (198-96, college: Umpqua CC) added 22 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side.
