Rather expected game when 5th ranked Pouakai (2-7) was defeated on the road by third ranked Queens (5-4) 80-65 on Friday. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Stella Beck (183-1995, college: SMC) who scored 17 points, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals. American forward Maya Dodson (191-1999, college: Notre Dame) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. Four Queens players scored in double figures. Queens' coach used entire bench and allowed the starting five to rest. At the other side the best for losing team was American swingman Jasmine Dickey (175-2000, college: Delaware, agency: LBM Management) who recorded a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) and the former international forward Esra McGoldrick (188-1999, college: NC State) added 18 points and 6 rebounds respectively. Defending champion maintains third position with 5-4 record behind leader N. Kahu. Loser Pouakai stay at the bottom place with seven games lost. Queens will meet Whai (#4) in the next round. Pouakai will play against Whai and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
