The stage is now set as Cabalen will battle three-time champion Samahang Ilokano for the championship of the Budweiser-Coca Cola 6th UFO Inter-Organizational Basketball League. With all teams entering the final round of the semifinals with 1-1 win-loss cards, each knew that whoever came out on top will advance to the best-of-three championship series, while the losers will play for third place. source: Shan Seman for SaipanTribune.

SIP - LIPS: 110-102
In the opener, many time all-star Edsel Mendoza made his first appearance in the playoffs and showcased his skills to lead SIP to another finals appearance with a 110-102 victory over LIPS-Mobil. Mendoza finished as the game's best player, scoring 39 points and 13 rebounds. Esdrelon added 23 points, while Alegre had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and five assists. Estolas led LIPS with 37 points, while Cequena and Aranda had 19 and 14 points, respectively. Aranda also grabbed 12 rebounds.

Cabalen - Visminda: 113-97
In the second game, Cabalen dethroned Visminda courtesy of solid play down the stretch for a 113-97 victory. Delos Reyes led Cabalen with 28 points and 13 rebounds, while Ranola and Ed Palma had 19 and 14 points. Dalangin and Alex Ocampo added 11 and 10 points. Muleta and Cosino led Visminda with 18 points, while Joyner and Peredo had 15 and 13 points.  

Banmi brings back bigger Settsu tournament - 5 Years ago
According to tournament director and coordinator Gabriel White, the Settsu Red Impulse Basketball Club is bringing in two U18 teams (girls and boys) for the sixth edition of the tournament that will run from March 26 to 28 at the Marianas High School Gymnasium. This years event is expected to draw more teams, as BANMI has also extended its invitation to Guam's Notre Dame Royals and George Washington High School, along with private and public schools on Saipan   [read more]

Northern Mariana Islands - Palau 67:61 Northern Mariana Islands posted the first win at the 2010 Micronesian Games. They rebounded after a bitter loss to Pohnpei in the opener. Northern Mariana Islands held off hosting Palau to improve at 1-1 record. Palau slipped at 0-2 record at the tournament. CNMI quickly gained the lead in this one. CNMI - Pohnpei 67:71 Northern Mariana Islands got to a slow start of the 7th Micronesian Games in Palau. They lost the opener to Pohnpei. Northern Mariana Islands got to a slow start. They were down by 7 points 11:18 at the first break. But the strong second quarter helped them take a 34:29 advantage at the interval. Pohnpei stressed the game inside the paint and it paid off.
