Townsville Fire celebrated WNBL title. They outscored Perth on the road to complete the sweep of the championship series. Townsville Fire made 18-of-23 free shots (78.3 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. 26 personal fouls committed by Perth Lynx helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. The former international swingman Courtney Woods (183-1997, college: NIU) orchestrated the victory by scoring 28 points, 8 rebounds and 7 assists. Forward Alicia Froling (190-1996, college: SMU) contributed with 25 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Townsville Fire's coach Shannon Seebohm used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Isobel Borlase, 21-year old guard from the Bendigo Spirit, was named the Player of the Year at the National Basketball League. She received multiple other awards, was voted the Guard of the Year, and was selected to the First Team and Domestic Players Team. Borlase was previously selected as the Sixth Player of the Year and Youth Player of the Year back in 2023. She averaged almost 7 rebounds per game in the league. Borlase was the Player of the Week honoree three times during the 25 26 campaign. She led the WNBL in points per game with almost 23.
