Ify Ibekwe (ex Girona) agreed terms with Flames

Rockingham City Flames (SBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 27-year old American (has also Nigerian passport) power forward Ify Ibekwe (187-89, college: Arizona, agency: LBM Management). She moved there from Spar Citylift Girona in Spanish LFB league where she started the season. This season Ibekwe played at SEQ (WNBL). In 24 LFB games she recorded 14.1ppg, 8.8rpg, 2.4apg and 1.3spg this season. She helped them to make it to the semifinals. Great season indeed as she was voted to Australiabasket.com All-Australian WNBL Honorable Mention. The last (2015) summer Ibekwe was tested by Atlanta in WNBA.
In 2011 she was drafted by Seattle Storm (WNBA) in second round (24th overall).
Ibekwe attended University of Arizona and it will be her fifth season in pro basketball. She played in the final of Spanish LFB.
Among other achievements Ibekwe received Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Player of the Year award and Eurobasket.com All-Spanish LFB Defensive Player of the Year award in 2015.
She is a very experienced player. Ibekwe has played also professionally in Belgium, France (Hainaut), WNBA (Phoenix Mercury).
