Gintare Mazionyte (ex Udominate) signs at Force

GINTARE MAZIONYTE

Ipswich Force (QBL) landed 26-year old Lithuanian forward Gintare Mazionyte (188-91, college: Texas). She moved there from played at Udominate in Swedish Damligan where she started the season. Mazionyte managed to play in three leagues last year (!!!). In 31 Damligan games she averaged 11.2ppg, 7.8rpg and 2.5apg this season. She helped them to make it to the final after they ended regular season as second best team. Good season as she was selected League Player of the Week. Mazionyte also played 8 games in Eurocup where she had 11.4ppg, 8.0rpg, 1.1apg and 1.1spg. And finally she contributed to 11 games in EEWBL where she recorded 13.6ppg, 5.9rpg, 2.5apg and 1.5spg. Mazionyte contributed to her team making it to the semifinals. It was a very successful season in her career as she was selected to Eurobasket.com All-EEWBL 2nd Team. The last season Mazionyte played at Cestistica Azzurra Orvieto in Italian Serie A2. In 27 games she got impressive 16.1ppg, 11.7rpg (leader !!!), 1.4apg and 2.5spg. She can count that season as a very successful as was awarded Eurobasket.com All-Italian A2 Player of the Year, Bosman Player of the Year and Center of the Year.
Mazionyte was also a member of Lithuanian international program for some years. She played for Lithuanian Senior National Team back in 2012 and previously for U20 National Team between 2010 and 2011.
Mazionyte also represented Lithuania at the World University Games in Shenzhen (China) seven years ago. Her stats at that event were 6 games: 13.2ppg, 7.3rpg, 1.3apg, FGP: 29.4%, 3PT: 44.4%, FT: 61.1%.
Mazionyte has played previously professionally in Spain (IF Air Europa) and Lithuania (Fortuna and Utena).
She attended University of Texas until 2014 and it is her fourth season in pro basketball.
