Here is the weekly review of the top performing Australian players, who play currently abroad.

   #1. This week's number one is an international power forward Mangok Mathiang (208-92, college: Louisville, currently plays in Italy). He led Vanoli Cremona to a victory against the seventh-ranked Alma TR (16-14) 82-75 in the Italian Serie A in Sunday night's game. Mathiang had a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 18 rebounds in 32 minutes on the court. Vanoli Basket Cremona (20-10) is placed second in the Serie A. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. Mathiang has relatively good stats this year: 10.9ppg, 10.0rpg, 2FGP: 60.9%(143-235) and FT: 50.5% in 31 games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Australian and South Sudanese. Mathiang is currently a member of the Australian senior national team.

   #2. Second place goes to former international point guard Ben Simmons (208-96, college: LSU, currently plays in NBA). He could not help the Philadelphia 76ers (51-31) in their last game on Sunday. Despite Simmons' good performance the Philadelphia 76ers (51-31) were edged 92-90 at home by the Toronto Raptors. He recorded 13 points, 8 rebounds, 5 assists and made 3 blocks. Simmons has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 16.5ppg, 8.6rpg, 7.5apg, 1.4spg, 2FGP: 57.2%(612-1070) and FT: 59.7%. Simmons played for the Australian national team in 2014.

   #3. The Australian player who performed third best last week abroad was former U22 international guard Mirko Djeric (193-95, currently plays in Serbia). He contributed to a 1-point Dynamic VP's victory against the fifth-ranked Tamis (2-5) 77-76 in the Serbian KLS on Thursday night. Djeric scored 11 points, had 9 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 40 minutes. KK Dynamic Vip Pay Beograd (4-3) is placed third in Group B. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. There are only three games left until the end of the Second Stage. So now every game will be critical. It's Djeric's first season with the team. This year his overall stats are: 7.2ppg, 2.4rpg, 2.4apg, 2FGP: 47.1%, 3FGP: 35.7% and FT: 73.7% in 29 games. Former Wollongong Hawks starter played for the Australian U22 national team four years ago.

   #4. An experienced center David Andersen (213-80, currently plays in France) contributed to a SIG Strasbourg's victory against the 12th-ranked Le Portel (13-21) 87-73 in the French Jeep ELITE ProA in Sunday night's game. Andersen scored 11 points. SIG Strasbourg (20-14) is placed sixth in the Jeep ELITE ProA. There are only two games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game is very crucial. Andersen's total stats this season are: 5.6ppg and 3.1rpg. He used to play for the Australian national team back in 2017.

International power forward Nick Kay (206-92, college: MSU Denver, currently plays in New Zealand) helped Saints win their game against the closely-ranked Sharks (5-4) crushing them 122-77 in the New Zealand NBL last Sunday. Kay scored 20 points, had 7 boards, handed out 8 passes and blocked 2 shots in 31 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Wellington Saints (8-0) are placed first in the NBL. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. Kay has very impressive stats this year: 16.9ppg, 9.1rpg, 3.5apg and 1.8spg in eight games. He plays currently for the Australian national team.

   #6. Swingman Keanu Pinder (206-95, college: Arizona, currently plays in Poland) was not able to help Legia (15-15) in their last game. Despite his good performance Legia was badly defeated 94-75 on the road by the leading Asseco Arka. Pinder scored 14 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 21 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. This year Pinder's total stats are: 7.2ppg and 4.0rpg in 30 games. He is a former U22 international player as he played for the Australian team four years ago.

   #7. International guard Jarrad Weeks (185-89, currently plays in New Zealand) helped Sharks win their game against the closely-ranked Huskies (3-4) 104-97 in the New Zealand NBL on Sunday night. Weeks had a double-double by scoring 21 points and getting 10 rebounds. He also added 5 assists in 38 minutes. SIT Zero Fees Southland Sharks (5-4) are placed fourth in the NBL. Weeks has very impressive stats this year: 20.8ppg, 3.7rpg, 4.7apg and 1.2spg in nine games. He is also Australian national team player.

   #8. Swingman Todd Blanchfield (200-91, currently plays in New Zealand) is a teammate of previously mentioned Jarrad Weeks and both played together in the last New Zealand NBL game. Blanchfield helped Sharks win their game against the closely-ranked Huskies (3-4) 104-97. He scored 21 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. This season Blanchfield has relatively solid stats: 13.8ppg, 6.0rpg, 1.4apg and 1.2spg. He plays currently for the Australian national team.

   #9. International guard Nathan Sobey (190-90, college: Wyoming, currently plays in France) is a teammate of previously mentioned David Andersen. But that was another game of his team in French Jeep ELITE ProA which we would like to mention. Sobey managed to help SIG Strasbourg in a victory against the closely-ranked Gravelines-Dunkerque (21-12) 87-78. He recorded only 4 points in 21 minutes. SIG Strasbourg (20-14) is placed sixth in the Jeep ELITE ProA. Sobey has averaged so far 4.5ppg and 1.9apg in 13 games. He is also in the roster of the Australian national team.

   #10. Swingman Ben Madgen (193-85, college: Augusta, currently plays in Germany) was the major contributor in a Crailsheim Merlins' surprising victory against the second-ranked EWE Baskets (28-6) 99-87 in the German BBL on Sunday night. Madgen recorded 15 points. HAKRO Merlins Crailsheim (9-25) is placed 16th in the BBL. The Regular Season already ended. Madgen has reliable stats this season: 14.2ppg, 4.0rpg and 1.6apg. He is a former international player as five years ago he still played for the Australian senior national team.

   #11. International guard Emmett Naar (185-94, college: St.Mary's, CA, currently plays in New Zealand) helped Rams win their game against the closely-ranked Sharks 89-75 in the New Zealand NBL last Friday. Naar scored 14 points and grabbed 5 rebounds. Naar averaged so far 11.1ppg, 4.0rpg and 3.7apg. He plays currently for the Australian national team.

   #12. Former international forward Rhys Vague (206-96, currently plays in New Zealand) was not able to secure a victory for one of league's weakest teams Giants in their game against Huskies in the New Zealand NBL, despite his very good performance on Saturday night. Vague had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 14 rebounds in 35 minutes. But his team were edged 93-91. Vague has very impressive stats this year: 18.5ppg, 7.5rpg and 3.1apg in eight games. He used to play for the Australian national team back in 2013.

   #13. International swingman Daniel Grida (195-98, currently plays in New Zealand) is a teammate of previously mentioned Rhys Vague. However that was another game of his team in New Zealand NBL which brought him to that list. Grida couldn't help Giants in their game against Hawks, despite his very good performance last Thursday. He was the second best scorer with 18 points. Grida also added 5 rebounds in 25 minutes. But his team were badly defeated by 20 points 103-83. Grida has very impressive stats this year: 15.1ppg, 4.3rpg, 1.4apg and 1.1spg in eight games. He is also Australian national team player.

   #14. Former University international swingman Xavier Cooks (203-95, college: Winthrop, currently plays in Germany) couldn't help s Oliver Baskets in their game against Brose Baskets in the German BBL. Cooks recorded only 4 points. His team was crushed by 32 points 97-65. Cooks averaged so far 11.6ppg, 5.7rpg, 2.2apg and 1.1spg. He used to play for the Australian university national team back in 2017.

   #15. Former international center Andrew Bogut (213-84, college: Utah, currently plays in NBA) helped Golden State Warriors win their game against the Portland Trail Blazers crushing them 116-94 in the NBA in Tuesday night's game. Bogut recorded only 2 points and grabbed 4 rebounds in 8 minutes on the court. Bogut has averaged so far 3.1ppg, 4.6rpg and 1.2apg in 24 games. He used to play for the Australian national team three years ago.

   #1. Sunday Dech (196-G-94, college: Barry, currently plays in New Zealand) was the major contributor in Saints' victory against the closely-ranked Sharks (5-4) crushing them 122-77 in the New Zealand NBL on Sunday night. Dech scored 24 points and grabbed 4 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Wellington Saints (8-0) are placed first in the NBL. So far his team won all eight games in the Regular Season. This season Dech has relatively solid stats: 11.9ppg, 4.5rpg, 2.3apg and 1.8spg.

   #2. Venkatesha Jois (203-F-93, college: EWU, currently plays in New Zealand) led Rangers to a victory against the league outsider Mountain Airs (1-6) 100-91 in the New Zealand NBL last Sunday. Jois recorded a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 3 assists and 2 blocks. 2 Cheap Cars Super City Rangers (2-6) are placed seventh in the NBL. Jois has individually a very good season with high stats. He averages: 18.8ppg, 11.3rpg, 2.0apg and 1.6spg.

   #3. Tony Tolovae (196-G-92, currently plays in New Zealand) contributed to Rams' victory against the closely-ranked Sharks (5-4) 89-75 in the New Zealand NBL in Friday night's game. Tolovae scored 15 points, had 6 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 24 minutes. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Canterbury Rams (5-2) are placed third in the NBL. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Tolovae has averaged so far 7.7ppg, 3.5rpg and 1.3apg in six games he played so far. He has a dual citizenship: Australian and New Zealand.

   #4. Joseph Lual Acuil (213-F-94, college: Baylor, currently plays in Israel) contributed to H.Galilee's victory against the closely-ranked Maccabi Haifa (16-10) 73-61 in the Israeli National League (second division) in Friday night's game. Lual Acuil recorded a double-double by scoring 13 points and getting 11 rebounds. He also added 4 assists and 7 blocks. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Hapoel Upper Galilee Safed (17-9) is placed second in the National League. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. This season Lual Acuil has very high stats. He averages: 17.2ppg, 10.7rpg, 1.5apg and 2.1bpg. Lual Acuil is another player who holds two passports: Australian and Sudanese.

   #5. Experienced Triantafillos Tzakopoulos (185-G-85, currently plays in Greece) contributed to an easy victory against the closely-ranked Karditsas (17-13) crushing them 72-52 in the Greek A2 (second division) on Saturday night. Tzakopoulos scored 8 points and added 6 passes. AS Kastoria (17-13) is placed seventh in the A2. Tzakopoulos has averaged so far 5.3ppg, 3.0rpg and 3.4apg. He has both Australian and Greek nationalities.

SHEA ILI Melbourne United (NBL) inked 26-year old New Zealander international guard Shea Ili (184-92). He played in the summer at Saints in New Zealand NBL league. In 13 games he averaged impressive 17.0ppg, 3.6rpg, 5.5apg and 1.8spg. He was also selected League Player of the Week.
