Melbourne keeps Davidson for another season

Melbourne Boomers (WNBL) re-signed 24-year old New Zealander international forward Penina Davidson (190-95, college: California). She played there last season. In 24 WNBL games she averaged just 2.1ppg and 2.0rpg. Davidson helped them to end the regular season as a second best team in the league. They also advanced to the league semifinals.
The previous (2019) summer she played at Breeze in New Zealand where in 7 games she was fourth best scorer with 15.0ppg and recorded 13.0rpg (#2 in the league), 2.1apg, 2.7spg (in top 4) and 1.3bpg in 2019 season. Davidson contributed to her team winning the regular season and make it to the final. A very good season in her career as she was awarded Australiabasket.com All-New Zealand WBC Player of the Year, Forward of the Year and selected to 1st Team.
She also represented New Zealand at the Olympic Games Additional Qualifying Round in Nantes (France) four years ago.
Davidson has played previously for Australian team Adelaide Lightning.
She attended University of California until 2018 and it will be her third season in pro basketball.
