Machado comes back to Taipans- November 22, 2020
Three years ago (five years after he left the college) Machado was drafted by South Bay Lakers (G-League) in first round (10th overall). The former Iona College star is in his ninth season in pro basketball. He has tried to make it to the NBA and played in the NBA Pro Summer League in 2015. Machado also represented Brazil at the World University Games in Shenzhen (China) nine years ago. His stats at that event were 7 games: Score-5 (19.1ppg), 2.9rpg, Assists-1 (4.4apg), 1.4spg, FGP: 54.1%, 3PT: 18.2%, FT: 82.4%. Machado is a very experienced player. Thanks to his pro career he managed to play on three different continents (Europe, Australia and of course North America) in eight different countries. Machado has played previously professionally in Estonia (Kalev/Cramo), France (ASVEL Lyon Villeurbanne Basket), Germany (EWE Baskets and Rasta Vechta), Israel (Maccabi Haifa), Spain (La ICL Manresa), NBA (Denver Nuggets, Golden State Warriors and LA Lakers), NBA G League (Rio Grande Valley Vipers) and The Basketball Tournament (Team Fancy and Gael Nation). Among many awards Machado's team made it to the German Bundesliga final in 2016. He received also All-MAAC Player of the Year award and USBasket.com All-NCAA D1 1st Team award back in 2012 at his college time.
