   #1. This week's number one is former University international center Duop Reath (210-96, college: LSU, currently plays in ABA League). Reath led his Serbian team Crvena Zvezda to a victory over the ninth-ranked Partizan NiS (6-13) 73-64 in the ABA League last Sunday. He was MVP of the game. Reath scored 15 points and grabbed 7 rebounds; quite an impressive performance considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. KK Crvena Zvezda MTS Beograd (15-2) is placed first in the ABA League. It was his team's sixth consecutive victory in a row. This season Reath averages: 6.5ppg, 2.8rpg, 2FGP: 58.1%(25-43), 3FGP: 37.5% and FT: 36.8%. He has a dual citizenship: Australian and South Sudanese. Reath played for the Australian university national team four years ago.

Ben Simmons

   #2. Second place goes to former international power forward Ben Simmons (208-96, college: LSU, currently plays in NBA). He contributed to an easy victory against the San Antonio Spurs (19-16) crushing them 134-99 in the NBA on Sunday night. Simmons scored 14 points, had 4 rebounds and dished 9 assists in 26 minutes. The Philadelphia 76ers have a solid 27-12 record this season. It was his team's fifth consecutive victory in a row. It's Simmons' fifth year with the team. He has individually a very good season with high stats. Simmons averages: 16.0ppg, 7.8rpg, 7.7apg, 1.6spg, 2FGP: 58.7%(196-334), 3FGP: 28.6% and FT: 66.3% in 32 games he played so far. He played for the Australian national team in 2014.

   #3. The Australian player who performed third best last week abroad was an experienced former international center Aron Baynes (208-86, college: WSU, currently plays in NBA). Baynes could not help the Toronto Raptors (17-22) in their last game on Thursday. Despite his good performance the Toronto Raptors (17-22) were edged 121-120 on the road by the Atlanta Hawks. Baynes recorded a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 15 rebounds. He also added 2 blocks. Baynes' overall stats this season are: 6.3ppg, 5.6rpg, 2FGP: 50.7%, 3FGP: 26.0% and FT: 75.0%. He is another player who holds two passports: Australian and New Zealand. Baynes played for the Australian national team two years ago.

   #4. Point guard Patrick Mills (183-88, college: St.Mary's, CA, currently plays in NBA) contributed to an easy victory against the Orlando Magic (13-26) crushing them 104-77 in the NBA last Friday. He recorded 13 points and had 3 steals in 23 minutes. The San Antonio Spurs have 19-16 record this season. Mills is one of the most experienced players in a team as it's his ninth year in Spurs' roster. Mills has very impressive stats this season: 13.0ppg, 1.8rpg and 2.5apg in 35 games. Former international forward Rhys Vague (206-96, currently plays in Japan) was the major contributor in a Kagawa FA's victory against the seventh-ranked Bambitious Nara (16-28) 108-91 in the Japanese B2 League on Sunday night. Vague had a double-double by scoring 25 points and getting 10 rebounds in 22 minutes. Kagawa Five Arrows (22-25) are placed fourth in West group. It was his team's third consecutive victory in a row. Vague has relatively good stats this year: 10.3ppg, 8.7rpg and 1.7apg in 40 games. He used to play for the Australian national team eight years ago.

Center Angus Brandt (208-89, college: Oregon St., currently plays in Japan) helped Shiga L-Stars win their game against the seventh-ranked Akita Northern Happinets (24-18) 77-74 in the Japanese B1 League last Sunday. He had a double-double by scoring 11 points and getting 12 rebounds. Brandt also added 4 assists in 36 minutes. Shiga Lakestars (16-26) are placed sixth in West group. This year Brandt has relatively solid stats: 12.3ppg, 8.5rpg and 3.4apg in 40 games. He used to play for the Australian national team back in 2018.

Former U19 international forward Grant Anticevich (203, currently plays college basketball in the States) was not able to secure a victory for the California (3-17) in their game against the University of Colorado (8-9) in the NCAA, despite his good performance in Thursday night's game. He recorded 11 points and grabbed 6 rebounds in 35 minutes. But the California was edged 61-58 at home by the University of Colorado. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Anticevich plays fourth season for the team. This year Anticevich's overall stats are: 8.9ppg, 4.5rpg and 1.8apg in 25 games. He used to play for the Australian U19 national team five years ago.

   #10. Swingman Tyler Robertson (198-0, currently studies in the States) helped EWU win their game against the Northern Arizona University (4-10) 66-60 in the NCAA last Thursday. Robertson recorded 18 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists (made all of his ten free throws !!!). The Eastern Washington University has a very solid 12-3 conference record this season. The Regular Season already ended in the NCAA. Robertson has reliable stats this year: 11.3ppg, 3.6rpg and 3.0apg. He is a former U19 international player as two years ago he still played for the Australian national team.

   #11. Former University international center Jock Perry (216-97, is currently at the American university) couldn't help the UC Riverside in their game against the University of California - Irvine in the NCAA, despite his very good performance on Friday night. Perry had a double-double by scoring 16 points and getting 10 rebounds in 29 minutes. But his team was badly defeated by 17 points 78-61. Perry averaged so far 11.4ppg, 5.3rpg and 1.1apg in 22 games. He used to play for the Australian university national team two years ago.

   #12. Former University international guard Kyle Zunic (188-99, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Winthrop win their game against the Campbell University crushing them 80-53 in the NCAA in Sunday night's game. He scored 13 points in 20 minutes. This year Zunic's total stats are: 4.9ppg, 2.8rpg and 1.5apg in 24 games. He used to play for the Australian university national team back in 2019.

   #13. Former international point guard Josh Wilcher (178-91, college: Cent.Wyoming, currently plays in United Kingdom) couldn't help Bristol Acadamy Flyers in their game against Sheffield Sharks in the British BBL. Wilcher scored 7 points and added 7 passes in 35 minutes. His team was edged 82-79. Wilcher averaged so far 10.7ppg, 1.8rpg and 4.6apg in 10 games. He used to play for the Australian national team twelve years ago.

   #14. Former U17 international forward Josh Bannan (203-1, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Montana win their game against the Weber State University 80-75 in the NCAA on Thursday night. Bannan recorded 10 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. Bannan has averaged so far 8.6ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.1apg. He used to play for the Australian U17 national team back in 2018.

   #15. Former U19 international forward Lat Mayen Nai (206-98, currently plays college basketball in the States) couldn't help the Nebraska in their game against the The Pennsylvania State University in the NCAA. Mayen Nai scored 7 points in 30 minutes. His team lost 66-72. Mayen Nai has averaged so far 8.6ppg and 4.6rpg in 27 games. He used to play for the Australian U19 national team five years ago.


The list of other players, who all have Australian passport but never been selected to any of Australian national teams:

   #1. Kyrie Irving (190-G-92, college: Duke, currently plays in NBA) led Brooklyn Nets to a victory over the Boston Celtics (20-18) 121-109 in the NBA in Thursday night's game. He was MVP of the game. Irving scored 40 points (!!!), had 8 rebounds and dished 3 assists in 34 minutes. The Brooklyn Nets have a solid 26-13 record this season. It was his team's fourth consecutive victory in a row. Irving has individually a very good year with high stats. He averages: 27.4ppg, 4.9rpg, 5.8apg and 1.1spg in 28 games he played so far. Irving is a naturalized American. Strangely he has never played in Australia.

   #2. Lachlan Anderson (206-F-97, college: EKU, currently plays in North Macedonia) was the major contributor in a TFT Skopje's victory against one of league's weakest teams Vardar (3-11) crushing them 94-71 in a derby game in the North Macedonian Prva Liga in Saturday night's game. Anderson scored 18 points and grabbed 5 rebounds in a mere 19 minutes; not bad, considering it's only his third season in pro basketball. KK TFT Skopje (10-4) is placed second in the Prva Liga. There are only four games left until the end of the Regular Season. So now every game will be critical. It's Anderson's first year with the team. Anderson has very impressive stats this season: 18.5ppg, 4.8rpg, 1.5apg and 1.2spg in 13 games.

   #3. Jesse Hunt (203-F-97, college: EWU, currently plays in Germany) contributed to an easy victory against the league leader ratiopharm Ulm (2-1) 92-77 in the German BBL in Saturday night's game. Hunt scored 11 points and grabbed 7 rebounds. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. Rasta Vechta (1-2) is placed third in the BBL. Hunt's overall stats this season are: 7.3ppg and 6.1rpg.

   #4. Marshall Nelson (188-G-94, college: WBU, currently plays in Iceland) was the main contributor in Grindavik's victory against the closely-ranked Thor Thorl (9-5) 105-101 in the Icelandic Dominos League on Thursday night. Nelson was the best player in that game. He scored 22 points and added 3 assists. It was the game of the round between two top 4 ranked teams. U.M.F. Grindavik (5-4) is placed second in the Dominos League. This season Nelson has very high stats. He averages: 19.2ppg, 4.0rpg, 4.8apg and 1.4spg. Nelson has a dual citizenship: Belgian and Australian.

   #5. Dominic Gilbert (198-G/F-96, college: UBC, currently plays in Holland) managed to help Heroes Den Bosch to win against the sixth-ranked Yoast United (7-5) 94-77 in the Dutch DBL in Thursday night's game. Gilbert scored only 4 points. Heroes Den Bosch (4-0) is placed second in the DBL. So far his team won all four games in the Regular Season. Gilbert's total stats this season are: 6.4ppg, 3.7rpg and 1.8apg. He is another player who holds two passports: Australian and Croatian.

   #6. Ryan Beisty (200-F-95, college: Regis Univ., currently plays in United Kingdom) contributed to a Plymouth Raiders' victory against the closely-ranked Scorchers 96-89 in the British BBL last Friday. Beisty scored 6 points in 17 minutes. This year Beisty's total stats are: 3.3ppg and 2.5rpg in 18 games. He has both Australian and British nationalities.

   #7. Hunter Marks (206-F, currently plays college basketball in the States) helped Hartford win their game against the University of Massachusetts - Lowell 64-50 in the NCAA on Saturday night. Marks scored 14 points, had 6 rebounds and made 2 blocks. Marks' total stats this season are: 9.7ppg, 5.9rpg and 1.4apg.

   #8. Junior Madut (196-G, currently studies in the States), who plays in the NCAA could not help the Hawaii (9-9) in their last game on Thursday. Despite Madut's good performance the Hawaii was defeated 62-52 at home by the University of California Riverside. He recorded 12 points, 5 rebounds, 3 assists and 3 steals. Madut averaged so far 10.7ppg, 4.4rpg, 1.8apg and 1.1spg.

   #9. Experienced Timothy Kearney (202-SG-86, currently plays in Sweden) helped BC Lulea edge the closely-ranked KFUM Jamtland 95-93 in the Swedish Basketligan on Friday night. He scored 5 points in 21 minutes. Kearney has averaged so far 3.7ppg and 2.5rpg in 20 games. He also holds two passports: Australian and Swedish.

   #10. Kuany Kuany (206-F, is currently at the American university) helped California win their game against the Stanford University 76-58 in the NCAA in Wednesday night's game. Kuany scored 8 points. Kuany has averaged so far 2.3ppg and 1.3rpg. He has dual citizenship: Australian and South Sudanese.
