It's still too early stage of the Regular Season in Local League, but even now we can clearly see the differece between stronger teams and outsiders. Here is the last round review presented by ESL.

Bendigo Braves (1-1) recorded its first loss at the home court on Friday night. Hosts were rolled over by ninth ranked Frankston Blues (2-1) 94-73. Frankston Blues forced 20 Bendigo Braves turnovers. The best player for the winners was point guard Lachlan Barker (179-96) who scored 26 points. American forward Dillon Stith (201-92, college: St.Vincent) chipped in 15 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Ray Turner (206-90, college: Texas A&M) who recorded 13 points and 9 rebounds. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Frankston Blues moved-up to third place, which they share with 8 other teams. Bendigo Braves at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. They share it with 9 other teams. Frankston Blues is looking forward to face Dandenong Rangers (#16) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Bendigo Braves will have a break next round.
Important game to mention about took place in Park Holme. Fourth ranked Noarlunga City Southern Tigers (3-1) saved a 3-point victory on the road edging 5th ranked South Adelaide Panthers (2-3) 75-72 on Friday evening. It was a good game for American forward Keouvion McCalop (203, college: Dakota Bottin.) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 15 rebounds. Cameron Coleman contributed with 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. American forward Alexander Starling (198-89, college: BCU) replied with a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds for South Adelaide Panthers. Noarlunga City Southern Tigers have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. South Adelaide Panthers lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with three games lost. They share it with Bankstown B.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
West Adelaide Bearcats can celebrate finally their first win this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Norwood Flames (2-2) 91-84 on Friday. Earnest Ross had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners. The best for the losing side was CJ Turnage with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists. Norwood Flames' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. West Adelaide Bearcats maintains seventh position with 1-2 record, which they share with 3 other teams. Loser Norwood Flames dropped to the fifth place with two games lost. They share the position with Ballarat M.. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Undefeated leader Sturt Sabres delivered the fourth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-4) 88-59 in Pasadena. Thomas Goodall notched 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Sturt Sabres have a solid four-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 4-0 record. Eastern Mavericks at the other side still closes the standings with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 6 N.Adelaide R. were defeated by Forestville E. in Goodwood 78-60. Hobart C. beat Ballarat M. at home 81-77.

Forestville E. - N.Adelaide R. 78-60

There was no surprise in Goodwood where 9th ranked North Adelaide Rockets (1-3) were defeated by third ranked Forestville Eagles (3-1) 78-60. Forward Brandon Brine (198-91, college: Lethbridge) notched a double-double by scoring 19 points and 14 rebounds to lead the effort and American forward Greg Mays (203-93, college: Green Bay) supported him with 20 points and 10 rebounds. Five Forestville Eagles players scored in double figures. Even a double-double of 16 points and 10 rebounds by forward Jimma Dau (201) did not help to save the game for North Adelaide Rockets. Guard Hamish Staude (183) added 8 points and 10 rebounds. Forestville Eagles moved-up to second place, which they share with 3 other teams. North Adelaide Rockets lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the eighth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

West Adelaide Bearcats can celebrate finally their first win this season after two consecutive losses. They used home court advantage to defeat Norwood Flames (2-2) 91-84 on Friday. Guamanian-American guard Earnest Ross (198-91, college: Missouri, agency: Haylett Sports) had a double-double by scoring 35 points (!!!) and 16 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and American swingman Bryan Michaels (190-96, college: Concordia, OR) chipped in 18 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was American swingman CJ Turnage (201-95, college: SVSU) with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists and his fellow American import center Anthony Green (208-96, college: Northeastern) scored 18 points and 5 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Norwood Flames' coach rotated eleven players in this game, but that didn't help. Undefeated leader Sturt Sabres delivered the fourth consecutive victory. This time they crushed bottom-ranked Eastern Mavericks (0-4) 88-59 in Pasadena. Sturt Sabres dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Eastern Mavericks' 32. Sturt Sabres forced 19 Eastern Mavericks turnovers and outrebounded them 46-34 including 33 on the defensive glass. Forward Thomas Goodall (198, college: NIACC) notched 13 points and 8 rebounds to lead the effort and guard Joel Spear (192-94, college: S.Oregon) supported him with 11 points and 7 rebounds. Four Sturt Sabres players scored in double figures. Even 6 points and 12 rebounds by naturalized Sudanese center Paul Aleer (213-94) did not help to save the game for Eastern Mavericks. Forward Rigby Aktanarowicz added 6 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. No shocking result in a game in Hobart where ninth ranked Huskies (2-1) defeated 12th ranked Ballarat Miners (2-2) 81-77. Guard Koen Sapwell (193, college: CS Monterey) notched 26 points to lead the effort and naturalized Greek guard Jonathon Mines (193-91, college: NMHU) supported him with 25 points. Even 23 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists by guard William Hickey (194-99) did not help to save the game for Ballarat Miners. Naturalized South Sudanese center Deng Acuoth (213-96) added 15 points and 10 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Huskies moved-up to third place, which they share with 8 other teams. Ballarat Miners at the other side dropped to the fifth position with two games lost. Huskies will have a break next round. Ballarat Miners will play on the road against NW Tasmania Thunder (#11) in Ulverstone and hope to win that game.
