Bendigo Braves (NBL1 South) inked 28-year old American 198cm swingman Malcolm Bernard (college: Xavier) for upcoming season. Bernard played recently at Ufimets Ufa in Russian Superleague 1. In 9 games he averaged 14.7ppg, 5.9rpg, 3.4apg and 2.3spg last season. He also played for BC Novosybirsk (Superleague 1) where in 13 games he had very impressive stats: 16.8ppg, 3.9rpg, 3.7apg and 1.1spg.
In 2017 he was drafted by Grand Rapids Drive (G-League) in first round (13th overall).
Bernard graduated from Xavier University and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
He is a very experienced player. Bernard has quite traveled the world as his pro career brought him to eight different countries on five different continents (Europe, Asia, Latin America, Australia and of course North America). He has played previously professionally in Argentina (Argentino), Belgium (Leuven Bears), Finland (Nokia), Qatar (Al Khor), Slovenia (Rogaska), Australia (Rockets), NBA G League (Grand Rapids Gold) and The Basketball Tournament (The Web).
