There were just 9 rounds played in Regular Season of State League and we can clearly see which teams will fight for top positions and which will try to avoid bottom places. Here is the last round review presented by Job Market.

The most crucial game of the last round was the first loss of Giants (2-1) in Hamilton Hill on Sunday night. Visitors were defeated by Cougars (4-0) 113-109. Cougars shot 61.9 percent from the field and made 22-of-29 free shots (75.9 percent) during the game. Cougars outrebounded Giants 41-25 including a 32-16 advantage in defensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 28 assists. It was a good game for swingman Gavin Field (202-1989, college: UWG) who led his team to a victory with 36 points (!!!), 5 rebounds and 5 assists (went 13 for 13 at the free throw line !!!). Guard Seva Chan (187-1994) contributed with 25 points and 9 assists (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the winners. Cougars' coach used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. Guard Jesse Ghee (183, college: Fullerton JC) answered with 31 points, 7 assists and 5 steals for Giants. Cougars maintains first place in League with 4-0 record. Giants at the other side dropped to the sixth position with one game lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Important game to mention about took place in Narrabeen. First ranked Bulls (4-1) saved a 1-point victory on the road edging 10th ranked Manly Warringah Sea Eagles (1-3) 74-73 on Sunday evening. Guest team only slightly avoided a big embarassment. Naturalized South Sudanese forward Chier Maker (203-1995, college: Idaho St.) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds for the winners and Jasper Rentoy chipped in 12 points and 6 rebounds. The best for the losing side was naturalized American guard Indiana Faithfull (193-1991, college: West Liberty) with 18 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Bulls maintains first place in League with 4-1 record. Manly Warringah Sea Eagles at the other side keep the tenth position with three games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.
Waverley Falcons' fans can finally celebrate the first win of their team.They used home court advantage to defeat Bendigo Braves (0-2) 76-74 on Sunday. Tristan Forsyth nailed 8 points and 17 rebounds for the winning side. Waverley Falcons' coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Malcolm Bernard came up with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists for Bendigo Braves in the defeat. Waverley Falcons (1-0) left bottom position moving up to eighth place in League. Loser Bendigo Braves still closes the standings with two games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

In the last two games of round 9
In League Albury W.B. beat Hills H. on the road 108-101. Winless Lakeside L. lost to undefeated Geraldton B. on its own court 64-90.
The most impressive performance of 9th round was 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals by Cameron Coleman of Geraldton B..

Hills H. - Albury W.B. 101-108

No shocking result in a game when fourth ranked Bandits (3-1) beat 11th ranked Hills Hornets (1-4) in Baulkham Hills 108-101 on Sunday. Bandits made 23-of-26 free shots (88.5 percent) during the game. Strangely Hills Hornets outrebounded Bandits 45-33 including a 16-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. American swingman Branden Jenkins (196-1994, college: TxWes) nailed 28 points and 7 rebounds for the winning side and guard Kieran Hayward (193-1997, college: Vanguard) accounted for 27 points and 5 assists. Jenkins is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Liam Moss came up with 24 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized British forward Paul Brotherson (198-1989, college: MSU Denver) added 24 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Hills Hornets in the defeat. Five Hills Hornets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Bandits moved-up to second place in League. Loser Hills Hornets keep the eleventh position with four games lost. Both teams do not play next round, which will be an opportunity for some rest.

American swingman Malcolm Bernard (198-1994, college: Xavier) came up with 14 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Luke Rosendale added 16 points respectively for Bendigo Braves in the defeat. Very expected game when bottom-ranked Lightning (0-4) was smashed by leader Buccaneers (4-0) in North Lake 90-64 on Sunday. Buccaneers dominated down low during the game scoring 56 of its points in the paint compared to Lightning's 28. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American Cameron Coleman (198-1992, college: York, NE, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) nailed 20 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals for the winning side and his fellow American import guard Shaun Stewart (183-1994, college: Limestone, agency: Elevate Sports Alliance) accounted for 22 points. Guard Benjamin Lee (188-94) came up with 20 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Sebit Reath (183, college: Lee JC) added 19 points and 8 rebounds respectively for Lightning in the defeat. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Buccaneers maintains second place in League with 4-0 record despite having the same number of points like the leader Cockburn C. Loser Lightning still closes the standings with four games lost.
