Cairns Taipans (NBL) strengthened their roster with addition of 25-year old American 203cm forward DJ Hogg (college: Texas A&M) for season 2022-2023. Hogg played most recently at Cholet Basket in French Betclic ELITE ProA. In 27 games he recorded 12.4ppg, 4.2rpg and 1.4apg last season. The last summer he played at the Magic in NBA Summer League where in four games he averaged 7.3ppg and 3.3rpg.
Last year (three years after his graduation) he was drafted by Lakeland Magic (G-League) in first round (8th overall).
He graduated from Texas A&M University in 2018 and it will be his fifth season in pro basketball.
Hogg has played also professionally in NBA G League (Delaware Blue Coats and Wisconsin Herd).
