Jordan Hunter claims Australian State League Hoops Agents weekly honour- July 21, 2022
The 25-year old center had a double-double of 25 points and nineteen rebounds, while his team beat Townsville H. (#12, 6-9) 103-97. The game was not the highest importance and did not have significant influence on top of the standings in North. NGC Seahawks maintains the 15th position in their group in Australian State League. The season is in a full swing, so it's only a dream for the team to make it into top half of the standings. For contrary they may face relegation if the situation turns from bad to worse. NGC Seahawks have already lost 12 games and recorded just four victories. In the team's last game Hunter had a remarkable 81.8% from 2-point range. He has many years of experience at NGC Seahawks, through which he has constantly improved. Saint Mary's College of California graduate has very impressive stats this year. Hunter is in league's top in rebounds (3rd best: 13.2rpg) and averages solid 1.5bpg and 60.7% FGP. The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American guard Carter Skaggs (196-G-1995) of Cockburn C.. Skaggs impressed basketball fans with 38 points and 9 rebounds. It was enough for Cockburn C. to edge slightly lower-ranked Perry Lakes H. (#8, 9-9) by 3 points 94-91. Despite this victory Cockburn C. slide down in the standings to 7th position in West. His team lost some distance to top teams. But 10-7 record is not bad and everything may still change. Skaggs is one of the most experienced players at Cockburn C. and has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. The third best performed player last round was Ethan Betts (188-G) of Townsville H. (#12). Betts showcased his all-around game by recording 27 points, five rebounds and twelve assists (!!!) in the last round. Despite Betts' great performance Townsville H. lost 97-103 to the lower-ranked NGC Seahawks (#15, 4-12). But his team cannot count on just a single shooter as he also needs help of the other teammates. The chances of Townsville H. ranking at the top of North, however are very questionable as they have already lost 9 games, recording just six victories. With bigger assistance of his teammates, Betts could help Townsville H. to bring them higher in the standings. Betts has a great season in Australia. After 14 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 6.1apg (8th best). Other top performing players last week: 4. C.J. Turnage (201-F/G-1995) of Joondalup W. - 25 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists 5. Justin King (196-G-1989) of East Perth E. - 29 points, 3 rebounds and 7 assists 6. Lee Roberts (203-F/C-1987) of East Perth E. - 26 points, 7 rebounds and 2 assists 7. David Humphries (193-G/F-1991) of Woodville W. - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 6 assists 8. Donald Vaughn (195-F-1990) of Lakeside L. - 23 points, 4 rebounds and 11 assists 9. Jeremy Smith (190-G-1991) of S.Adelaide P. - 26 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists 10. Aiden Krause (193-G-2000) of NGC Seahawks - 16 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists The Player of the week is selected based on efficiency calculation, but also including game result, importance of the game, if played recorded double-double/triple-double, etc. The efficiency formula is a combination of various formulas used by different basketball organizations/leagues. We got involved many basketball scouts and journalists to assure it's accuracy. The formula: 1.5*PTS + 3* (REB+AST+ST+BL-TO) - 2*BSAG - 4*PF + 3*PFRV + 4* (2FGPM+3FGPM) + 1.5*FTM - 3* (2FGPA-2FGPM) - 3* (3FGPA-3FGPM) - (FTA-FTM)
