Defending champion Sydney Kings (NBL) landed 25-year old American (has also Brazilian passport) 211cm center Tim Soares (college: Master's) for new season. Soares played this summer at Milwaukee Bucks in the NBA Summer League. The last season he played at Ironi Nes Ziona in Israeli Winner League where in 27 games he had 14.1ppg, 6.4rpg, 1.5apg and 1.3bpg. Soares can count that season as a very successful as was voted to Eurobasket.com All-Israeli League Honorable Mention and League Player of the Week. He also played 2 games in FIBA Europe Cup where he recorded 8.0ppg, 5.0rpg, 1.0apg and 1.0bpg. Soares has been regularly called to Brazilian Senior National Team since 2021.
He has played also professionally in Turkey (Samsun). His team won GSAC Tournament in 2017, 2018 and 2019. Soares was selected to All-GSAC Defensive Player of the Year in 2018, 2019 and 2020.
He graduated from Master's University in 2020 and it will be his third season in pro basketball.
